About the startup
Koalaa is a macOS app that sits invisibly over your screen during software engineering interviews and gives you real-time AI hints. It listens to the conversation, transcribes it live, reads your screen via OCR, and surfaces contextual suggestions — without ever appearing in screen share. Interviewers see nothing. Use it across every round: get unstuck on DSA problems, walk through system design with structured breakdowns, tackle machine coding prompts, and nail behavioural questions with framework-guided answers. Upload screenshots of coding problems or diagrams and Koalaa reads them directly into context — no manual copy-pasting. A session timer keeps you aware of pacing so you never run over. What makes it different: it's a native macOS app under 40MB, not a clunky Electron wrapper or a browser extension. There's no subscription - you buy credits and use them when you need them. Everything runs locally on your Mac with no interview transcripts stored on our servers. Engineers use Koalaa to walk into interviews more confidently, recover faster when they get stuck, and land offers at companies like Google, Amazon, and startups they actually want to work at.
