About the startup
FinFam is a platform designed to enhance collaborative financial planning by bringing together friends, family, and experts with the assistance of AI. As an engineer and product lover, I wanted something that looked like Notion, and worked like the App Store meets GitHub, for financial planning. It’s a collaborative platform where friends and family can answer money questions and drive life decisions, augmented by structured expert input and AI assistance. We’ve focused on three core ideas: Key Features Collaborative Planning: Plan with those you trust, including friends, family, and financial experts, all in one platform. AI Assistance: Get insights and answers from our AI assistant, Finn, to explore various financial scenarios. Expert Input: Access a marketplace of expert views and get tailored advice without sharing personal data. Interactive Guidance: Save and update your financial views as life changes, ensuring your plans remain relevant. Privacy and Sharing: Keep your financial spaces private by default, with the option to share with friends, family, experts, and the world. If you like #BuildInPublic, you might like #EarnInPublic, too. With FinFam, users can explore complex financial decisions such as renting vs. buying a home, mortgage payoffs, planning for financial independence (FIRE), and much more. If you can make a spreadsheet for it, FinFam offers a way to share your insights, interactively and privately, with others. The platform's collaborative nature ensures that users have access to a wealth of knowledge and support, making financial planning a shared and informed experience.
