About the startup

Foratrail is a swipe feed for Wikipedia. Flick through one clean card at a time — the man who survived both atomic bombs, a town that's been on fire underground since 1962, the 1932 war Australia fought against emus (and lost). Swipe right to save an article, left to skip. The articles you keep build a trail — your rabbit hole, up to 12 articles, in order. Share the whole thing as one link and a friend replays your exact path, card by card. The feed learns what you like on your device, so it gets sharper the more you swipe. No account, no signup, nothing tracked on a server. Open it for two minutes, come out twenty minutes later knowing five things you didn't. Key features - Full-screen swipe feed of Wikipedia, one article per card - Save up to 12 into a shareable trail - One URL replays your rabbit hole for a friend, card by card - On-device taste memory — the feed tunes to you, privately - Free, anonymous, no signup

Story

Drip's Leadpages deal was a 13-month acquisition, not a revenue chart

Rob Walling used Startups for the Rest of Us episode 298 to describe Drip's sale to Leadpages as a long strategic acquisition, and he kept purchase price and recurring revenue off the record.

Pat Flynn's first product month was $7,906.55, a year and a half after the study blog

Pat Flynn says he was laid off as an architect in 2008, then sold a LEED-exam ebook into traffic he had already built; October's $7,906.55 was the first month with his own product, not the first month the site existed.

Tiago Forte scaled Building a Second Brain as live cohorts, then stopped teaching them himself

A 2022 Disco case study describes Tiago Forte taking Building a Second Brain to a fifteenth cohort and thousands of learners by iterating live, then his January 2023 post says he taught 16 cohorts and would not teach the

Ship 30 for 30 started as a $50 Slack challenge, not a later AI newsletter

Dickie Bush says Ship 30 for 30 began in November 2020 when he asked about 500 followers to write daily, had 50 people in Slack six days later, and later wrote with Nicolas Cole that they had taught 10,000-plus students
