About FocusStack

FocusStack is a productivity and focus management platform built specifically for software developers, indie hackers, freelancers, consultants, and other professionals who spend most of their day working on a computer. Most productivity tools either focus on manual time tracking or passive activity monitoring. FocusStack combines the best of both approaches. Users start by creating a task, selecting a project, and starting a timer using Pomodoro, Unlimited, or Custom mode. Once a session begins, FocusStack automatically tracks the apps and websites used during that work session, creating a detailed and accurate record of how time was actually spent. This approach gives users intentionality without the burden of maintaining manual timesheets. Instead of simply knowing that eight hours were spent on a computer, users can understand exactly how much time was spent on specific projects, tasks, applications, websites, and activities. For software developers, FocusStack provides visibility into how engineering time is allocated across coding, debugging, code reviews, documentation, research, meetings, and context switching. Developers can identify productivity bottlenecks, understand where interruptions occur, and gain insights into how their work habits affect output. For indie hackers and startup founders, FocusStack serves as a personal operating system for their business. It helps users understand how much time is being spent on product development versus marketing, customer support, content creation, sales, operations, and administration. By making time allocation visible, founders can make better decisions about where to focus their efforts and identify activities that generate the greatest impact. For freelancers and consultants, FocusStack provides accurate project-based time tracking, billable hour management, and invoice generation. Because time is tracked alongside actual application and website activity, invoices are based on real work rather than rough estima
