About WedBuild
A year before WedBuild existed, we were planning our own wedding. I'm an accountant, my wife Elise is an engineer — and we still ended up with a budget and guest list in two spreadsheets that never agreed with each other, and the "real" plan scattered across a dozen open tabs. If the two of us couldn't keep it straight, something was broken with the tools. The first thing we built wasn't a company. It was a QR code for our own reception, so guests could scan it and see their table, the room map, and who they'd be sitting with. It ended up being the thing people talked about all night. That reaction is why WedBuild exists. A year of evenings and weekends later, WedBuild is the app we wish we'd had: one place where everything reads from the same plan. When a guest RSVPs, your headcount, dietary tallies and seating chart all update in the same moment. Change something once and it carries through — no re-typing, no version confusion, no "which spreadsheet is the real one?" What's inside: — Guest list organiser: households, plus-ones, dietaries, addresses. Import from Excel in minutes. — Online RSVPs through your own wedding website: meal choices, song requests, custom questions. Guests reply from their phone; answers file themselves. — Seating charts: drag-and-drop tables, a visual room designer, multiple saved versions ("the diplomatic option" and "the fun option" can coexist), printable table cards with a dietary legend for your caterer. — QR "Find My Seat": guests scan a code at the reception and see their table and table-mates. Late change? Update the chart and everyone sees the latest version. This is the feature that started it all. — Budget tracker built for how wedding money actually works: deposits, instalments and balances per vendor — not just totals. — A task checklist scheduled around your date, vendor comparison, an event schedule for the whole weekend, and an AI assistant that answers from your actual plan ("what's left to pay the florist?"). — A free wed
