About the startup
Over the years, I’ve built a few Rails apps that never really found an audience. Instead of letting them sit unused, I decided to try selling them as self-hosted, one-time-purchase products, similar to how the app Once was sold. To make that easier, I built a tool called Discode. It helps you package your Rails app and handle things like licensing, installation, and delivery. I’m even using Discode to sell Discode itself. If you’ve ever thought about selling one of your Rails projects, this might help. I also recorded a couple of short videos to show how it works: Installing Discode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0ZxADS3SpQ Using Discode to sell your Rails app: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2D8ZmOMNEM&t=4s Let me know what you think or if you have any questions.
