About the startup
Scrieb turns recordings into transcripts on your own computer. Speech-to-text, speaker identification, and summaries all run locally with OpenAI's open-source Whisper model, so nothing you record is ever uploaded — not to us, not to anyone. Drop in an audio or video file, or record a meeting directly (no bot joins the call), and get a transcript that reads like a dialogue: who said what, with timestamps. Export to DOCX, PDF, or TXT. Works in 90+ languages, fully offline after a one-time model download. Built for people who can't send their audio to the cloud: Lawyers with client calls Therapists and clinicians Researchers who promised participants confidentiality Journalists protecting sources Because the content never leaves the device, there's no vendor with access, no data processing agreement to sign for it, and no cross-border transfer — the questions GDPR and HIPAA reviews usually start with simply don't arise. Runs on Windows 10/11 and macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel). One licence covers both, with no per-minute limits. Free trial, then a flat subscription.
