About the startup
Someday helps people meet someone worth knowing outside their existing social circle. As adults, it can be hard to meet new people in a natural way. Most social apps focus on dating, large group events, or professional networking. Someday takes a different approach: it matches two strangers for a one-to-one dinner based on meaningful overlaps in their lives, interests, experiences, goals, and curiosities. When someone signs up, they answer a series of questions about themselves, such as where they have lived, what they have studied or worked on, what they are interested in, what they want to learn more about, and the experiences that have shaped them. Someday uses this information to find another person they are likely to have an interesting conversation with. The match does not need to be someone who is exactly like them. In fact, the best matches may come from one unexpected point of connection. Two people might have grown up in the same small town, studied at the same university years apart, worked in completely different industries but share the same unusual hobby, or have experiences that the other person has always been curious about. Once matched, the two people meet for dinner in their city. Someday creates the introduction and provides the reason to meet. The users simply show up, have dinner, and see where the conversation goes. The goal is not necessarily to help people "make friends" in the traditional sense. It is to make it easier to meet people they would probably never encounter through work, university, dating apps, or their existing friend groups. Over time, the vision is for Someday to work wherever someone happens to be. A person travelling alone in London might meet someone who recently graduated from their university, shares an obscure interest, or has lived an experience they want to hear about. Someone moving to New York for the first time could meet a person whose life looks completely different from theirs but overlaps in one unexpected way. Someday starts with dinners in your city. The broader idea is simple: wherever you are, there should be someone worth meeting.
