About the startup
Slidect turns any phone into a presentation remote. Upload a PDF (everything exports to PDF), put the presenter view on the big screen and scan the QR code with your phone: it becomes the remote, with your current slide, your notes, a timer, a laser pointer, zoom, blackout and a slide grid. The big screen opens on a welcome screen with a QR code and a join code, so the audience connects while people are still sitting down. Attendees follow the slides on their own phone, send live emoji reactions and ask questions (anonymously if they want); the presenter sees them on the remote and answers when ready. No account, no app, no cookies. Everything runs in the browser on any device and installs as a PWA. Sessions are ephemeral (a 6-character join code plus a 6-digit presenter PIN) and are deleted after the talk. Slide sync uses simple polling, so it keeps working on hostile conference Wi-Fi. Made for teachers, conference speakers and anyone who presents from a machine that is not theirs. Free. Try the interactive demo without signing up: https://www.slidect.com/demo
