RomCrate: The Vault for Game Collectors

About the startup

RomCrate started because I wanted a cleaner, faster way to manage my gaming library across different platforms. It’s not just a website; it’s a full ecosystem designed to track your progress, sync with major gaming services, and showcase your collection to the world. Key Features: - Massive Database: Tracking over 350,000 titles with high-quality metadata via IGDB. - Cross-Platform Sync: Integration with Steam, PSN, and Xbox to aggregate your playtimes and libraries automatically. - Personalized Timeline: A unique "Year Overview" to visualize every game you've cleared over the years. - Privacy First: Full control over your profile visibility—keep it public to share with friends or private for your eyes only. - Community Driven: Write reviews, check community ratings (and Metacritic), and see what’s trending in the gaming world. The Tech Stack: I’m building RomCrate in public using the latest .NET stack. I wanted to see how far I could push Blazor (Server/Wasm) and .NET MAUI Blazor Hybrid for the upcoming mobile app. - Backend: PostgreSQL on a private VPS (IIS). - Auth: ASP.NET Core Identity. - Safety: OpenAI-powered moderation for community content. Open Beta 4 is Live! The platform is completely free to use. I’m currently refining the UI and moving toward a full 1.0 release, which will include the official mobile companion app. I’d love to get your feedback on the UX and the performance!
